About Safe Links
Safe Links checks links in emails both as they arrive in your inbox and when you click on a link. If a website is compromised after you receive an email but before you visit it, you gain an extra level of safety.
With this change, you may notice the following:
- In Outlook for Windows, when you mouse over a link, you will see a the URL followed by a notice to "Click or tap to follow link."
- In alternative email clients, when you mouse over a link, you may see a different URL that starts with https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?… in the mouse-over tip normally displayed.
- If you click on a link for a website that might not be safe, the page will be blocked from loading, and you will receive a warning that "This website is classified as malicious."
